Gymns into fourth

by isleofman.com 8th December 2008
Gymns had a comfortable victory in the only game in the Sure Mobile Women's League yesterday.

They defeated bottom club Michael United 7-0 thanks to a hat-trick from Dawn Quinn, a Rachel Beckley brace and goals from Zoe Carney and Elaine Wiseman.

The result puts the Tromode outfit up to fourth, three points behind Peel with a game in hand.

There were also two matches in the Sure Mobile Floodlit Cup yesterday.

Corinthians got their campaign off to a promising start with a 5-0 win over Colby at Castle Rushen High School.

Anna Dillon and Sarah O'Reilly both got on the scoresheet twice with Steph Hall completing the scoring.

And Peel made it two wins out of two in the competition, beating Ramsey 4-1 courtesy of goals from Emma Faulkner (2), Vanessa Roberts and Claudia Konig.

Emma Cottier scored the northerners' solitary effort.
