Jersey's new chief minister believes change could be on the horizon for crown dependencies such as the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.
Terry Le Sueur has been appointed to the Channel Island's top political post following the retirement of Frank Walker, who had held the position for three years.
He comes in at a time when a number of offshore jurisdictions are anticipating the United Kingdom government's recently announced review into their financial systems.
Mr Le Sueur feels confident about its outcome, but says things may have to be altered because of other factors.
He told Manx Radio:
"What the outcome of that review will be we will have to wait and see, but we have been reviewed in the past and we have come out of those successfully.
"The world is changing and the Islands themselves may have to change, but I'm confident that we have the ability to do that.
"I don't think it's just because of the review, I think the world's financial climate is going to change and, inevitably, if we are going to continue to succeed, we are going to have to change and adapt as well."
