A member of the Isle of Man Freethinkers says it's right the sensitive subject of euthanasia is discussed openly on the Island.
The issue has been in the headlines again following the screening of a television documentary which showed a man with motor neurone disease choosing to end his own life, with the help of the Swiss-based organisation Dignitas.
He allowed the cameras to film the moment of his death.
Geoff Garland, who contributed to a House of Keys report on euthanasia in 2006, believes the situation on the Island should be periodically reviewed.
He also says there are two sides to the argument regarding those who may wish to end their own lives (play attached audio file):
A report on euthanasia was received by the House of Keys in March 2006, but the general election later that year preventing any legislation being brought forward.
