Future of Woolies store still unknown

There have been more long queues in the local branch of Woolworths, with shoppers hunting for bargains.

Despite Thursday's late opening, the store closed at 5.30pm, but it was very busy earlier in the day.

The chain is facing closure because administrators have failed to find a buyer and, with over 800 stores throughout Britain, job losses could total 25,000.

It's not know when the Isle of Man branch will close for good, but some people believe the 50 staff could be laid off before Christmas.

These Manx shoppers told John Moss they would be sorry to see Woolies go:
