Leisure facilities for shopping areas?

The eventual loss of Woolworths in Strand Street, Douglas could lead to a change in the type of outlets in the Isle of Man's main shopping area.

That's the view of Chris Pyecroft, the manager of the Douglas Development Partnership, who says high streets and shopping centres elsewhere have started to incorporate more leisure facilities, in an effort to attract more people for longer.

He says it's an approach which should be looked at very seriously in Douglas too (play attached audio file):
