Entries close on Wednesday night for this year’s Santa Dash through the streets of Douglas and there’s a warning people handing their forms in at the last minute may end up disappointed.
Isle of Man Bank’s Community Investment Manager, John Lindon, says there are still places available but with the majority of forms usually returned late on, this could change suddenly.
He's urging anyone else who wants to take part to send in their entries straight away.
Last year, for safety reasons, a limit of 100 runners was imposed and this almost had to be implemented when entries reached a record 95.
Although it's for fun, the serious athletes will be looking to beat the record of four minutes 28 seconds set last year by John Halligan, who was running on behalf of Victim Support.
Entries have to be received by close of business on Wednesday and the event itself takes place on Friday (December 19) starting at 12.30pm from Isle of Man Bank’s Athol Street headquarters in Douglas.
This is the eighth year the Santa Dash has been staged by the bank.
