Manx2 bookings up

by isleofman.com 23rd January 2009
Isle of Man based airline Manx2.com says its bookings have increased 13% over the first two weeks of this year, compared to last year.

And despite economic doom and gloom the company is predicting 2009 could be a good year for the Island’s tourist industry because people are looking to holiday closer to home.

The weakness of Sterling combined with a recession in the United Kingdom is discouraging people from going abroad, according to communications director for Manx2.com, James Filleul.

He says the firm is now working with the Department of Tourism and Leisure to encourage people to take breaks in the Isle of Man.
