Island removes NLAI from sanctions list

by isleofman.com 2nd February 2009
The National Liberation Army of Iran has been removed from the Isle of Man's sanctions regime against terror organisations.

The organisation, which opposes the Iranian government, had been blacklisted by the European union as being one involved in terrorist activity.

But yesterday a European Council decision came into force removing the organisation form the terror watchlist.

As a result, it’s now no longer illegal to hold funds, assets and economic resources on behalf of the body, which is also known as the Muslim Iranian Student's Society and People's Mujahidin of Iran.
