The Isle of Man branch of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) has announced a series of workshops and masterclasses for spring 2009. The series of five workshops include such topics as Key Account Planning, Digital Marketing and Successful Copywriting. There are both one-day and three-day events, the first of which begins on 16th April.
In addition, there will be a new 5-part programme, running from 23rd March to 17th June, called 'Development Marketing Plans'. This programe covers all elements of marketing planning and culminates in delegates producing a professional marketing plan from a choice of templates.
Ideal for the small business owner who does not wish to undertake a full marketing qualification, plus any professionals who wish to update their knowledge and techniques, attendance of the programme entitles all delegates to one year's free CIM membership.
CIM North Regional Director Diane Earles comments 'This is great news for local organisations who will benefit from first rate marketing training with the world's leading marketing body, without the expense and inconvenience of sending staff off-Island. Workshops will be offered at a lower rate than the UK equivalent and will address the requirements of a wide-range of Isle of Man organisations operating in any business sector'.
Isle of Man Government's Department of Trade and Industry is subsidising the cost of all workshops for Manx delegates, a move which has been praised by Earles: 'This support demonstrates the DTI's recognition of the importance of enhancing skills in marketing to support a successful and diverse economy'.
The workshops and masterclasses are open to Manx residents only. All events take place at the Mount Murray Hotel and Country Club. For more information, contact Tiffany Jacobsen, CIM IOM Training and Events Manager, on 07624 433131. Interested parties are advised to register early.
