Luxury Suites Set to Offer 'Five-Star' Experience

by isleofman.com 16th March 2009

Nine luxury suites in the Sefton Hotel, Douglas, are now nearing completion and scheduled to open for TT 2009.

The suites form part of the Sefton's four-year multi-million pound investment programme, which has included the creation of Sir Norman's Bar; a complete refurbishment of The Gallery Restaurant; enhancement of its leisure facilities, spa and swimming pool; and significant investments in its bedrooms and public areas.

The nine suites have been purpose built and aim to set the benchmark for a five-star hotel experience on the Island.  Chief Operating Officer of the Sefton Group, Mark Lewin, commented “This is part of a significant investment across not just the Sefton Hotel, but our whole group in the Hospitality, Leisure and Property Divisions, and I am delighted that we will complete these superb facilities in readiness for June.   Over the last ten years, there has been a continued change in the pattern of visitors as the Isle of Man has evolved into an international business and finance centre.  We have listened to our customers and the suites are the direct result of their feedback.”

David Woodiwiss, Director of Hotel Food and Beverage Division, added  “The average floor area of these suites is 900 square feet. From a raised platform in front of the panoramic bay windows, through to Italian custom-made catering facilities, luxurious wet area with deluge showers, Jacuzzi spas and integrated TVs, and sumptuous bedrooms, every attention has been paid to creating the 'wow' factor.  We were fortunate to secure the services of a highly skilled  interior designer who has created a range of furnishing designs across the suites, from Victorian  to Contemporary, so there is a real choice for our guests. The experience is completed by Bang and Olufsen TV and audio equipment, satellite facilities, full wifi access, mood lighting and secure video entry systems.

“We are also investing in a new boardroom on the ground floor, which will feature the latest in visual presentation and video conferencing capability, and dedicated private dining areas.  I am delighted at the response so far: whilst we are still eight to ten weeks away from completion, we have already seen a great deal of interest and are actively taking bookings for the suites, particularly from our corporate clients, for their visitors".
