by isleofman.com 20th March 2009

Sure has appointed Jan Nobes as Resources and Development Director for the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Bermuda.

Mrs Nobes joined Sure, Guernsey in 1999 as Training and Development Manager, and was appointed Human Resources Manager for the local operation in 2005.  Last year she was promoted to Head of HR for the company’s Guernsey, Jersey and Isle of Man businesses. In her new expanded role, she will take responsibility for the company’s personnel and staff development across all four islands.  She will also have responsibility for aspects of business administration and compliance.

Mrs Nobes has more than 30 years’ experience in Human Resources, beginning her career as a personnel officer for Oxfordshire County Council in England.  Prior to joining Sure, she was Operations and HR Manager at Dynatech Medical Technologies, which in the 1980s and 1990s was one of Guernsey’s largest manufacturing employers.

Since she began working for Cable & Wireless, Mrs Nobes has been responsible for developing a high quality training and development programme, and successfully introducing systems for staff performance management.

Eddie Saints, Chief Executive Officer of Cable and Wireless in the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and Bermuda, commented: 'I am delighted to appoint Jan Nobes to this role. She is a highly experienced and committed HR professional who has a proven track record in successfully implementing new best practice policies into companies. Her experience and enthusiasm will be extremely beneficial to Sure.'
