Industry recognition for Dalrymple Associates

by isleofman.com 26th March 2009

Tim Cowin, of Ramsey-based construction consultants Dalrymple Associates, has been elected Chairman of the Isle of Man Construction Forum for 2009. Mr Cowin, a chartered mechanical engineer and professional project manager, was elected to succeed David Kay of Kay Associates at the Forum’s AGM.

The Isle of Man Construction Forum draws delegates from all sectors which have an involvement in the construction process and built environment. The forum maintains close working relationships with Government at all levels and the diversity of its membership ensures balanced consideration of strategies, regulations and legislation. Mr Cowin’s interest in cost-effective on-Island procurement of environmentally and ecologically desirable policies will influence the forum’s 2009 events calendar.

As Chairman, he will be working closely with forum delegates and vice-chairman John Sullivan of Holmes Grace Consulting Engineers.

Separately, Mr Cowin joins Ron Dobbie in achieving Chartered Environmentalist status. Mr Dobbie, a chartered mechanical engineer, is a senior consultant to the practice and also a corporate member of both the Energy Institute and the Chartered Management Institute.

The designation of Chartered Environmentalist is conferred by the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) to those practicing at professional level in an appropriate discipline and who can demonstrate their application of sound environmental principles in their work.
