Sure Appoints New Country Manager

Leading telecoms provider Sure has appointed Mike Stanton as the new Country Manager.

Mr Stanton, who has 34 years’ experience in telecoms, is now responsible for managing Sure in the Isle of Man, which is part of Cable & Wireless’ Channel Islands, Isle of Man and Bermuda portfolio.

Mr Stanton, who has lived on the Isle of Man since 2000, began his career as a British Telecoms apprentice and worked for the company in a wide range of roles, including project managing several major consultancy projects and implementing business solutions for BT Belgium.

From 2000 to 2007, he worked with Manx Telecom as Corporate Solutions Manager, responsible for the product launch and in-life management of the company’s business voice and data portfolio.

Latterly, he was General Manager of e-llan Communications, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Manx Electricity Authority, responsible for optimising the commercial potential of the company’s subsea fibre optic cable to the UK.  

Mr Stanton holds a TEC Higher Certificate in Telecoms and is a graduate of BT’s Telecommunications Masters Programme. He also holds a BA Honours degree and Post Grad Diploma in Business Studies.
