Could the Isle of Man's e-Gaming operators soon be facing taxes in the United Kingdom?

Gerry Sutcliffe, the UK's minister for sport, has been hinting it could happen.

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has announced it will hold a review with the UK Gambling Commission into foreign-based operators and whether they should contribute toward regulation, problem gambling treatment and the Horseracing Betting Levy.

The Financial Times says the review is expected to be handed to the British parliament before the end of the year.

According to the paper, MPs have complained about British-based operators paying such levies while operators licensed offshore pay nothing.

Mr Sutcliffe has promised a fairer system of payments and a level playing field between British businesses and their counterparts based abroad.
