TLC Launches Courses For Job Seekers and New Employees

by isleofman.com 7th May 2009

Local business trainers TLC Business Solutions have launched a series of short modules aiming to help young people with the transition from education to work.

For the last year, TLC has worked with the Department of Trade and Industry to deliver a five-day programme aimed at job seekers and those just starting their first job.  The new modules are short – just 2.5 hours – and are scheduled to fit in with other commitments, including work.

TLC’s clients across the business community, which include some of the biggest names in both public and private sectors, have made very clear what characteristics and qualities they are looking for in their new recruits.

Based on this feedback, these short workshops are designed to deliver exactly the things that employers want.  And, although they were built with school-leavers in mind, they are just as relevant for university students, people returning to work after a long break, and anyone who feels the need for a confidence boost.

While some sessions have been adapted form the longer programme, TLC has also been working with Ballakermeen High School to find out how parents could benefit from some support too.  To help them to help their kids with this difficult transition, a specific module has been developed with parents in mind.

As TLC consulted with the school and with parents, many have said how much they could do with some ideas – or just the comfort of knowing that they are on the right track.

TLC will be running these sessions several times over the summer months, so if you are interested why not get in touch with them on 664789, or e-mail to info@tlc.co.im
