IT Specialists Achieve Gold Standard

by isleofman.com 15th May 2009

Itex, the UK’s largest offshore IT specialist, which has offices in the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey, has been named a Gold Partner within the VMware Authorized Consultant (VAC) Programme.

VAC partners are qualified to offer VMware-certified consulting services as well as VMware products. Gold status is the highest tier of the VAC programme and is designed for partners who develop and deploy strategic virtualisation solutions for customers in collaboration with VMware.

Alyson Hamilton Lacey, Managing Director of Itex Isle of Man, comments 'Securing Gold VAC status with VMware represents the achievement of an extremely important objective to the team here at Itex. This reflects not only the degree of commitment that we have to VMware, but more importantly the depth of independently certified expertise that our consultants can provide to our customers through our comprehensive services portfolio.

'We are also encouraged by the recent introduction of Solution Competencies such as Business Continuity which aligns extremely well with our overall VMware practice.  This will allow us to further showcase our expertise and differentiate ourselves in the marketplace.

'Our clients can be assured that while transitioning to a virtual environment they are utilising truly expert resources with the very highest levels of experience and skills capabilities. As a Gold VAC partner we can provide the full stack of project lifecycle consultancy services from analysis and assessment, through implementation, post implementation optimisation and ongoing Managed Services.'

Itex has also become an Enterprise level member of the VMware Service Provider Program (VSPP). This has been designed as a support programme to the VMware vCloud initiative and gives IT specialists such as Itex a much more flexible and cost-effective way of providing virtualisation solutions to their clients.

Together, VMware and its partners deliver solutions that help businesses grow and innovate, while simplifying computing infrastructure and minimising total cost of ownership (TCO). VMware products provide enterprise class virtualised infrastructure that increases server and other resource utilisation, improves performance, increases security and minimises system downtime, reducing the cost and complexity of delivering enterprise services.

Marc Groetelaars, Partner Director, Northern EMEA at VMware, said 'Itex is a great example of the value VMware brings to clients with the help of its partners. Customers know that VMware offers world-class technology, but it really adds value to their business when a team such as that at Itex add its insight and expertise to craft a customised solution. We are delighted to award this status to Itex and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship'.
