The Chartered Institute of Marketing Isle of Man branch is continuing its programme of events focussing on the Isle of Man branding strategy with 'Championing a Nation', which will bring attendees up to date with the initiative’s progress.
The event, which takes place at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday 21st May, will feature guest speaker Alistair Audsley. Mr Audsley will discuss the progress the Freedom to Flourish strategy has made since being introduced.
So far, Freedom to Flourish (introduced to enhance the Isle of Man’s national identity) and its Champions Scheme has attracted 33 organisations representing over 6500 employees on the Isle of Man (25% of the working population), each working together to deliver a brand strategy to help the Island continue its success in the 21st Century.
Examples of how the initiative has already made a difference will be presented to attendees, including the Digital Inclusion programme, delivered by Champions Scheme members, which has delivered IT training for the over 50s to more than 800 people, helping them develop new skills and find new roles in the workplace.
Richard Slee, Chair of The Chartered Institute of Marketing’s Isle of Man branch said 'Freedom to Flourish is an ambitious strategy for the Isle of Man, but has enjoyed some fantastic successes to date.
'Local businesses and organisations are increasingly recognising the benefits that using the Freedom to Flourish strategy can deliver both them and the economy of the Isle of Man. The Isle of Man Champions have been enthusiastic in working together to share knowledge and best practice in helping both businesses and residents reach their full potential.
'For example, the Island’s distinct identity and reputation for high standards helped persuade the CIM Board of Trustees in the Isle of Man to grant us full branch status last year, instead of being tagged on to the Lancashire branch.
Championing a Nation begins at 5.30pm with refreshments and networking before the presentation at 6pm. Tickets are free for full and studying CIM members. Student and guest admission is ?9.80.
