AXA (IOM) is reaffirming its active role in the community with the launch of its 2009 Hearts in Action Project.
Hearts in Action, a community partnership programme designed to build links between AXA, its staff and the local community, is described as 'all about getting involved, making a difference and having some fun along the way'.
Last year, AXA redesigned the Manx Foundation for the Physically Disabled's garden and this year has selected a project to do at Willaston Primary School.
The project, set to take place on 3rd July, will see AXA working hard to create an outdoor area, designed to hold six vegetable beds with one being built for each of the Primary School’s six classes.
Upon completion, the children will be able to not only plant their seedlings but also maintain the area, providing them with a fantastic opportunity to learn more about nature and maybe even sample the fruits of their labours!
AXA Isle of Man’s Managing Director Mike Foy said 'We are always delighted to be able to contribute to the local community, and hope that this new outdoor area will provide a great deal of pleasure to all the pupils of Willaston Primary School for many years to come'.
