Fairbairn Crosby Cricket Club has recently improved the facilities at its Marown ground.
With the support of its sponsor, Fairbairn Private Bank, and the Isle of Man Cricket Association, the club has just laid a new high quality artificial wicket.
The investment forms part of the club’s five-year development plan and will dramatically improve the ground’s playing surface. The new wicket is of much better quality than the previous wicket and will provide a more even and competitive surface for cricket to be played on.
The new wicket obviously worked its magic when the club’s Under 9 squad had the honour of being the first Crosby team to play on it. They celebrated the occasion in style by beating Cronkbourne Cricket Club in this inaugural game.
The Under 9s team is new to the club and its formation follows from the club’s support of cricket at the Manx Youth Games.
