Sure is taking its involvement with TT 2009 to another level by supporting some of the event’s most famous stars during their stay in the Isle of Man.
The telecoms company is providing 15 riders and teams with Nokia 5070 mobile phones for them to use during the two-week event, in addition to being the official Sidecar race sponsor and telecommunications partner.
Riders including Tim Reeves, Nick Crowe, Mark Cox, John McGuinness, Steve Plater, Cameron Donald, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins and Ben Birchall were given their mobile phones during the official launch of the Sure Radio TT retail unit at the TT Grandstand.
Radio TT presenters will be broadcasting live from Sure’s retail unit, having installed a fully-functioning radio studio there.
Kent-based Sidecar racer Mark Cox, passenger of Jurby’s five-time TT winner, Nick Crowe, commented 'Sure’s support of the TT in terms of sponsorship is fantastic, but more so because it extends to a practical level for the racers as well.
'The cost to compete in the TT is enormous so support like this is very gratefully received. Thank you, Sure!'
