The promise of top flight action on the Mountain Course wasn’t the only thing to get pulses racing amongst TT fans flying into the Island this week.
Four passengers disembarking from Manx2.com flights had the added bonus of being presented with free Welcome goody bags, featuring free ?5 Sim packs including ?6 worth of calls, courtesy of Manx Telecom and Manx2.com.
The telecommunications provider teamed up with Manx2 for a special 2009 TT promotion, which helped to these revellers into gear for Race Week.
Manx Telecom’s Voirrey Barron said the Welcome packs were designed to help TT visitors keep phone costs to a minimum during their stay, as well as provide them with useful information about the Island.
'Using one of our local SIM cards is the cheapest way to use a mobile phone on the Isle of Man and it cuts out any roaming charges.
'We’re pleased the Welcome packs have been so well received. It’s all part of helping visitors get the most from their TT experience' said Voirrey.
Manx2’s Business Development Executive Ann Hartley added 'Our passengers coming over for the TT have been really appreciative and many have called home to advise friends and family due to follow on to look out for the Manx2.com ‘meet and greet’.
'Many commented that it’s not every day of the week that you are handed a Welcome pack when you get off a flight.
'This is our second year of ‘meet and greet’ and the passengers are really impressed by the gesture, which will of course be repeated in 2010,' said Ann.
