by isleofman.com 23rd June 2009

More than 100 delegates from 48 countries are on the Island this week for a high-profile telecommunications conference.

The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations involves a week of meetings held by the Electronic Communications.

The ECC works with the European Commission and the European Free Trade Association to develop policies on electronic communications.

This week’s meetings will focus on the radio spectrum, used for mobile phones, mobile broadband, as well as terrestrial and satellite communications.

Dr Carmel McLaughlin, director of the Isle of Man Communications Commission, welcomed the fact the Isle of Man had been chosen as the venue for the gathering.
