Island bucks property price trend

by isleofman.com 13th July 2009

A new survey from an international offshore tax company says the Isle of Man is bucking the trend of falling European property prices.

The Sovereign Group survey looked at home prices across Europe, and found while in general the trend was downwards, offshore jurisdictions were holding their own.

In the Isle of Man, property prices have risen four per cent over the last year, according to the report.

Sovereign Group chairman Howard Bilton says, what he describes as, 'a new breed of British tax refugee' is moving offshore and helping to prop up prices.
