Indoor Fundraising Feat for Barclays Wealth

by isleofman.com 15th July 2009

Staff at Barclays Wealth dusted off their trainers recently to take part in an indoor triathlon to raise money for the Barclays Wealth Charity of the Year, Wish Upon a Dream.

During the day, teams of three took part in cycling, stepping and rowing challenges in the Barclays branch in Victoria Street, Douglas.

Each person spent five minutes cycling, stepping or rowing, each competing to get the longest distance.

Customers in branch kindly donated during the challenge while each competitor also collected sponsorship from family and friends.

Altogether, over ?1,500 was raised for Wish Upon a Dream.

Head of Continuous Improvement, Ian Pilley said ‘Well done to all staff who took part in the triathlon and helped to raise over ?1,500 for our Charity of the Year.

'It was great to see so many people getting involved and helping to raise money for such a worthy cause.’

Wish Upon a Dream is a local charity which was set up in 2007 with the aim of granting wishes for sick and terminally ill children living on the Island.
