Deputy PM signs tax agreement with Island

by isleofman.com 18th July 2009

The Isle of Man has signed a double taxation agreement with Belgium.

It's the second such agreement with an EU member, and the 16th which meets OECD standards on tax transparency and co-operation.

Treasury Minister Allan Bell signed the agreement in Brussels on Thursday in a ceremony with Belgium's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Didier Reynders

Mr Bell says the Island is forging ahead with tax agreements, and he expects this to lead to further political, economic and cultural ties with Belgium.
