An Isle of Man based company has been selected by Barclays Wealth as facilities contractor for the bank's property portfolio on the Isle of Man.
A three year contract has been awarded to Stewart Clague Services. The contract has an additional two year optional extension and was awarded to SCS following a rigorous assessment of the Manx firm's resources and competence.
SCS director Alan Clague said 'Whilst we have provided such services previously for Barclays, we have never taken such a contract for granted and it is excellent that the Barclays engineering team has recognised the importance of employing a locally based organisation to look after the bank's seven commercial buildings here on the Island.
'Our strength is our team both on the rock face, with an incredibly varied skills set, and in our office engineering support where a partnership arrangement with Barclays Engineering is paramount'.
Final negotiations were completed at Bank Street in Canary Wharf, where Alan and fellow director Stephen Carter met the global head of engineering and were given a guided tour of their properties on the Wharf.
John Phynn, Associate Director at Barclays Wealth, Corporate Real Estate Services, said 'We were very impressed by the level of professionalism and expertise displayed by SCS in the provision of essential services.
'We are pleased to have been able to award this major contract to a local firm.'
