Expansion and Success for Douglas Dental Practice

by isleofman.com 20th July 2009

One year on from opening a new surgery in Douglas, A. D. Hewett Dental Practice is expanding with a second surgery at the same site on Buck's Road.

Practice Manager Brian Hewett attributes the growth of the practice, which concentrates solely on clinical dentistry, to 'our independent format of good clinical dentistry at fixed, affordable prices'.

The expansion means that the Practice is now in a position to accommodate more patients; at present, just over 2,000 benefit from its services.

The growth of the Practice has been marked by the appointment of a new dentist. Lorna Taylor (pictured), who will work full-time at A. D. Hewett, has over 20 years' experience in dentistry, in a career which has seen her work in the UK, Channel Islands and Australia.

Denplan Excel - A First for the Island

In a further boost to the Practice, A.D. Hewett has also received the prestigious Denplan Excel Award.

It is the first dental practice on the Island to achieve this accreditation, which recognises consistent clinical excellence. The award was made after a rigorous day’s inspection, which addressed all aspects of the practice.

Alexia Hewett, owner and Principal Dentist at the practice, commented: 'It is very pleasing for the practice to achieve such a high standard at the first attempt and after a relatively short period of time after opening at the beginning of last year'.

A. D. Hewett Dental Practice is continuing to welcome new patients: bookings can be made by contacting the practice on (01624) 675748.

All treatments have a fixed price so patients are aware of the costs before the commencement of treatment. An optional Denplan monthly payment scheme is also operated. In return for a modest monthly payment, all treatments are provided at no additional cost.

The Denplan scheme includes off-Island emergency cover, and the only additional charges at the practice are for labwork, which is charged at cost.
