Companies on the Island will be able to learn how the latest developments in technology can help their business get a competitive edge at a Manx Telecom Open Day tomorrow (Tuesday 21st July).
The Open Day, which will take place at Telecom's headquarters at Isle of Man Business Park, Cooil Road, Braddan, is free and geared to all local businesses, big and small.
The event - which takes place between 8am and 6pm - promises a packed programme of presentations and demonstrations showcasing a variety of the most up to date products and services for business.
Everyone coming to the Open Day will also have the opportunity to win a BlackBerry Bold.
'The Open Day will centre around three sessions; 8am – 10am, 12pm – 2pm, and 4pm – 6pm and, while people are welcome at any time during the day, we suggest that they time their visits to coincide with one of the sessions – that way, they won’t miss anything,' says Andy Pirie, Manx Telecom Corporate Solutions Product Manager.
Centre stage, will be demonstrations of the new Tandberg Video conferencing suite of products, which promise to bring video conferencing into a new age. Manx Telecom will also be premiering their innovative ‘Meet Me’ Audio Conferencing Service which offers user-friendly tele-meetings.
'In today’s challenging economy, companies of any size need to look at their costs, and the advances in video and audio conferencing can help cut business travel bills, save time, and reduce a company’s carbon footprint,' says Andy.
Other attractions will include the new Mitel 5000 telephony system, demonstrations of the latest iPhone and BlackBerry mobile devices, information about upgrading to Manx Telecom’s new superfast ADSL2+ broadband service, and the latest updates on eBusiness hosting solutions.
Manx Telecom is also offering a free consultation to any business to assess their current telecoms set up, to show how companies can save money and improve customer service by better, more cost effective, use of technology.
'This is an unmissable opportunity for anyone in business on the Island to come along and learn about how technology can help them grow and succeed in a fast changing world,' says Andy.
While anyone is welcome just to turn up, Manx Telecom is encouraging people thinking of coming along to pre-register on their website at www.manxtelecom.com/openday where they will automatically be entered into the prize draw for a new BlackBerry Bold.
