Island link with gas exploration in Poland

by isleofman.com 30th July 2009

A company which has an administration office in the Isle of Man is looking to extract what is known as 'unconventional gas' from the Baltic Basin region of Poland.

3 Legs Resources in Ramsey handles paperwork for Lane Energy Poland, which is looking to remove shale gas from the area.

The gas is trapped in different rock formations and can be freed by drilling horizontally, fracturing the rocks or injecting water into spaces.

These sources are believed to have a longer lifespan than normal gas reservoirs.

Company director Kamlesh Parmar, who acts for 3 Legs, says field work has started to obtain seismic data in the region, and there are plans to drill a first exploration well in 2010.
