'Good Fit' Merger of Douglas Accounting Firms

by isleofman.com 6th August 2009

Douglas accountants Moores Rowland have announced they have merged with Horwath Clark Whitehill, with the merged firm operating from Horwath’s offices in Victory House, Douglas.

Well known Moores Rowland principal, Will Tickle, said that he was close to retirement age and had been looking for a suitable partner to take over his business.

Horwath’s were introduced and it soon became clear that they shared a lot of common ethos and values.

Horwath Clark Whitehill chairman Roger Barrs said,  "We are delighted to have been able to do a deal with Will.

"He has run a successful local business for many years now, having started from scratch, and when we began talking it was obvious that the synergies were very strong."

Will Tickle, who continues as a consultant to the merged firm, said, "It is a good fit for us, and a big attraction for me was knowing my clients would continue to be well looked after and that Horwath’s had a similar outlook and practices."

Pat Donegan, Will’s right-hand woman for twenty years, has joined Horwath’s with three other Moores Rowland staff and says she is looking forward to the challenge, not least the new ‘paperless office’ procedures.
