Airline takes over Newcastle service

by isleofman.com 6th August 2009

Manx2 has announced it will step into the gap left by Eastern Airways and operate a service on the Isle of Man to Newcastle route.

The company says it will start a limited service to the north eastern city on Thursday, August 27.

Manx2's chairman Noel Hayes says losing any air route can have a knock-on effect on the Island's economy, and he sees Newcastle as a viable route.

But Manx2 says it will only commit to running the service until the New Year, when it will reassess the situation.
