Kaupthing book on the way

by isleofman.com 11th August 2009

There looks set to be a fresh round or recriminations about Kaupthing Singer & Friedlander when the chief executive of the bank publishes a kiss-and-tell book later this year.

Armann Thorvaldsson's book, Frozen Assets will be published in October and, according to the publisher's blurb, will tell how one man, one bank and one country experienced and affected the course of world economic history.

But there's been widespread dismay that Kaupthing’s top man may profit from the memoir after so many savers lost their savings.

Mr Thorvaldsson became chief executive of KSF in 2005 and his book looks set to name clients, and describe the jetsetting lifestyle of senior bankers.

It will be the latest set of potentially embarrassing revelations for Kaupthing, after its loan book was leaked on the internet showing how much lending it had done to companies linked to bank directors and shareholders.

It's not known whether Mr Thorvaldsson will talk about hte Manx operation in his book.
