Inflation stays at zero

The latest figures from the Island’s Treasury show inflation has stuck at zero, the fourth month there’s been no rise in the Retail Prices Index.

The rate fell into negative territory in May, and has stayed level at zero per cent since July.

By contrast, this time last year it was running at around six and a half per cent.

In their latest update, Treasury officials say the annual rate of inflation, excluding housing costs, currently stands at 2.5 per cent.
