IOM not a fraud hotspot

by isleofman.com 9th September 2009

The Isle of Man has been given the thumbs-up by a United Kingdom-based internet fraud company.

The 3rd Man has published a survey of the British Isles by postcode, showing the prevalence of online fraud.

Hotspots are large cities such as London, Manchester and Newcastle, while more rural areas such as the Island are coloured green to show they are less likely to be used by conmen.

According to the research, between July 2008 and August 2009, fewer than 0.2 per cent of the Isle of Man's internet transactions were fraudulent.
