Pay Less As You Go: Telecom Unveils 'Sweeping' Savings

by isleofman.com 10th September 2009

Manx Telecom has announced sweeping cost savings on its Pay As You Go tariffs and included a big number of free texts every time you top-up, including unlimited free texts when you top-up by more than ?20.

From Monday 14th September, customers will pay an across-the-board 10p per minute for all calls to island mobiles and land lines – as well as to UK, Ireland or Channel Island fixed lines.

The new deal is designed to enable savings of 60% on calls to other Isle of Man mobiles and a 33% reduction when phoning both UK land line and mobile phones.

It will now cost 20p per minute to connect to a UK mobile instead of the current 30p per minute rate.

“These revised rates are all part of Manx Telecom’s commitment to creating better value and service for our growing numbers of Pay As You Go customers,” said the company’s Marketing Communications Manager Voirrey Barron.

“Together with our unrivalled network coverage and unbeatable mobile data download speeds, the new tariffs provide a great opportunity to save money, especially after all the expenses associated with the summer holidays.

"By any standard, these are substantial cost reductions and every Manx Telecom pay as you go customer will also now benefit from either unlimited free texts or hundreds of free texts wherever they top-up,” she said.
