Medis student scheme

by isleofman.com 17th September 2009

Two Manx students are off to university with the backing of Douglas-based pharmaceutical company Medis Limited.

Ayren Kelly and Catherine Willoughby have been selected for the company’s Student Sponsorship Scheme which gives students financial and practical support during their time away.

They will each receive ?5,000 a year as well as work experience at the company's Douglas headquarters during the holidays.

Managing director of Medis Stuart Colligon says it's important for the firm to invest in those who want a career in biomedical or pharmacological disciplines.

Ayren went to Ramsey Grammar School and is studying for a Masters Degree in Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University, while Catherine attended Ballakermeen High School and is studying Biochemistry at Manchester University.
