Local company helps with humanitarian aid

by isleofman.com 5th October 2009

A Ramsey based computer business has provided a generous donation towards humanitarian operations in Indonesia.

AFD Software has helped pay for a Kodiak 100, a ruggedly designed aircraft capable of operating in such harsh conditions it doesn't require a prepared runway.

The plane will be used by Mission Aviation Fellowship UK in Kalimantan, where it will deliver healthcare to remote villages in the rainforest covered mountains.

The plane will arrive in the United Kingdom for the Duxford Airshow on October 11 and will be on view at an open day at Andreas Airfield five days later.
