Telecom Takes Pride in the Open Wave

by isleofman.com 6th October 2009

Manx Telecom customers found themselves ship-shape recently when they enjoyed an evening on Pride of Mann II, the Sailing for the Disabled yacht, which is sponsored by the company.

Manx Telecom has enjoyed close links with Sailing for the Disabled for many years.

Mobile Network Manager Roy Maddrell (pictured left, at the helm) also skippers the 42 foot yacht on a regular basis, whilst a number of the Company’s staff volunteer their time to help out with crewing.

The vessel has made over 200 outings in the last twelve months and Manx Telecom’s annual sponsorship helps to pay towards its upkeep.

Manx Telecom`s Carolyn Hudson said, "Sailing for the Disabled provides invaluable opportunities for people with a range of disabilities and we are delighted to extend our sponsorship for a further year."
