Swimming to Success in Business

by isleofman.com 22nd October 2009

Adrian Moorhouse MBE is well-known for his Olympic victories.

He won gold in the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and he is still winning today, having been voted 'Best Leader' in the 2009 Sunday Times 'Best Companies to Work For' list.

He is now Managing Director of Lane4, a professional services firm working in the fields of organisational performance, leadership development and executive coaching.

It was in this latter guise that he was invited by the local branch of the Institute of Directors to give an informal workshop, held at the Sefton Hotel, entitled ‘Swimming to Success in Business’.  The mid-afternoon workshop was well-attended by many prominent businesspeople from across the Island.

Adrian gave an inspiring talk which covered the various similarities between the focus and training techniques demanded by athletes and those wishing to succeed in business. Throughout his talk, he encouraged dialogue with the audience and the event was enjoyed by all.

The local branch of the Institute of Directors runs a regular events programme with a senior management focus, including breakfast and evening meetings.  Contact can be made through the branch secretary Stephen Honeybone on stephen@orchardrecruitment.com.
