Launch of Conister Bank

by isleofman.com 27th October 2009

Conister Trust, the Isle of Man's only independent bank, has a new name and visual identity.

With immediate effect, the long established Manx company has become known as Conister Bank Limited.

It has undergone an extensive re-branding to complement the change to its name, and from now on will be identified by a striking new logo depicting Conister Rock, the landmark from which it takes its name.

The bank also has a new website - conisterbank.co.im - and has launched a new service, Conister Wealth, which will provide independent financial advice to new and existing customers.

Conister Bank began life in the Isle of Man in 1935, as Conister Trust, mainly as a hire purchase company to provide finance for cars and so called 'white goods' (household merchandise such as bed sheets and curtains).

Today the bank offers considerably more, in three main product areas.

They are Conister finance, covering secured and unsecured lending to both personal customers and businesses; Conister Savings, for fixed term, fixed rate savings accounts; and Conister Wealth, for independent financial advice across a range of investment, savings, pension, mortgage and insurance products.

Conister Bank's managing director Simon Hull said: "Thousands of families in the Isle of Man and hundreds of businesses have been customers of Conister Bank for generations, because of our stability, high levels of service, flexible approach and personal touch, and none of that is going to change."
