Industry Recognition for Dalrymple Associates

by isleofman.com 28th October 2009

Dalrymple Associates’ Tim Cowin (pictured) has been elected a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE).

Having been an IMechE member for 20 years, Mr Cowin, a chartered mechanical engineer and professional project manager with the Ramsey-based construction consultancy, said he had been working towards achieving Fellowship status all his working life.

FIMechE is the highest class of elected membership, awarded to individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and innovation in mechanical engineering.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers is the fastest growing professional engineering institution in the UK with a 160-year heritage and around 80,000 members.

The consultancy’s principal, Keith Dalrymple said, "Tim is to be congratulated on his achievement.  Receiving the Institution’s highest grade is recognition of his tireless pursuit of excellence in what is a dynamic industry with much to contribute to the Island’s economy."

Mr Cowin, who lives in Ramsey with his wife Helen and their three children, is also the 2009 chairman of the Isle of Man Construction Forum and holds chartered environmentalist status with the Society for the Environment (SocEnv).
