Industry Standard for Continent 8

by isleofman.com 2nd November 2009

Continent 8 Technologies’ Isle of Man Data Centre (pictured) has been approved as Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) compliant.

Passing this standard recognises the high standards that are in place for the protection of credit card data within the Company’s Data Centre.

The PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard for enhancing credit card data security that includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures.

Most importantly, this comprehensive standard helps organisations proactively protect customer account data and therefore prevent credit card fraud.

The PCI DSS is administered by the PCI Security Standards Council which was formed by the leading global credit card companies including MasterCard, Visa and American Express.

Neil Murray, Technical Operations Director (Europe), comments, "Gaining this standard, after a thorough audit, emphasises the rigorous standards we set ourselves at Continent 8 Technologies on a daily basis to protect both our customers and theirs."
