Three-Island First for Ashgrove

by isleofman.com 3rd November 2009

Ashgrove Marketing has become the first full service advertising and PR agency to have a presence in the Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey.

The company, which was founded on the Isle of Man, now has representatives in each of the three largest British Crown dependencies, enabling it to provide clients with services coordinated through a single agency but tailored to each jurisdiction.

Managing Director Terry van Rhyn comments, "Many companies – particularly those involved in finance – have a presence in at least two, and often all three, jurisdictions so it makes sense for a full service agency to do the same.

"It will help reduce costs for clients who may have previously had to use more than one agency to get on the ground support in each jurisdiction.

"While companies may have a common brand or strategy across the three jurisdictions, each island is unique, and it is important that local communications reflect that.

"We are able to help clients create a coordinated overall strategy, but one that is tailored to each local environment."

Ashgrove Marketing has been established in the Isle of Man for almost two years and currently has 15 staff working in brand creation and PR management.

At the helm in Jersey is Channel Islands Managing Director Alex Mallinson, who was a journalist in written and broadcast media for ten years before moving into PR five years ago.

In Guernsey, PR Director Fiona Malley has considerable experience within the PR industry and event management.

Mr Mallinson says, "There are Isle of Man companies who are considering expanding into the Channel Islands, and we are able to help them do so by providing not only marketing and advertising expertise, but by giving them wider public relations services, such as political lobbying and introducing them to the right people and networks."
