PDMS Digital Design manager Jim Rawson will be the guest speaker at the November meeting of the Chartered Management Institute Isle of Man.
At the meeting, which will take place on 16th November at the Hilton Hotel, Jim will discuss how using a Content Management System (CMS) to run a website can eliminate the complexity involved putting control and ownership into the hands of non-technical managers and staff.
"Content management systems allow organisations to make frequent updates and changes to their websites or systems using modern standards and technology without the need for specialist IT or design knowledge," explains Jim Rawson, Senior Designer for PDMS's Digital Design service.
"Once the design and build stage of a website is complete, we can hand over many web management aspects to our clients, saving them time and money."
Jim Rawson graduated from the University of Plymouth in 1996 with a degree in Art and Design. Since then he has held a variety of roles within industry, and in 2005 joined PDMS, the Island's largest software development firm, where he manages a large range of web projects for both public and private sector clients.
He is an Adobe Certified Professional and an accredited eBusiness consultant with the Department of Trade and Industry's Business Support Scheme.
The CMI lecture, which starts at 6.15pm, is free and open to all.
A meal will be served following afterwards at a cost of ?19.50. Ring Mike Kermode on 813734 or email him at mikekermode(at)manx.net to book.
