Bogus parcel firm alert

by isleofman.com 17th November 2009

Isle of Man Post is warning customers to beware of a postal scam which is doing the rounds on the Island at the moment.

A card is put through the door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) claiming it was unable to deliver an item, and that the occupier of the property needs to get in touch.

The contact number given is 0906 6611911, which is a premium rate number.

The advice from Isle of Man Post is not to ring the number, as it is a mail scam originating from Belize.

Anybody who does make the call will hear a recorded message telling them they have already been billed ?15.

Isle of Man residents who receive such cards are asked to contact Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 239 6655 or ICSTIS (the Premium Rate Service Regulator) at icstis.org.uk
