Legal Expert to Speak on e-Gaming Industry

Claire Milne, Local Team Leader for Intellectual Property and Telecommunications and Technology at Appleby, will give a talk on e-gaming at a forthcoming Institute of Directors breakfast meeting.

 

Claire is Chair of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission, the body that grants licenses and regulates e-gaming on the Island., and a member of the Isle of Man Data Protection Tribunal and Copyright Tribunal.

 

She joined Appleby’s predecessor firm, Dickinson Cruickshank,  in 2006 from Scottish firm Thornton’s, where she was a Partner specialising in Intellectual Property and Information Technology. 

 

Claire has experience of all aspects of contentious and non-contentious IP rights and co-authored the first book on IP for Scottish lawyers called Intellectual Property Law and Practice.

 

She has also worked on major bespoke software and hardware development projects, and advises on e-business and data protection issues.

 

The talk takes place at the Hilton Hotel on Thursday 19th November at 7.45am (finishing at 9am).  There will first be a light breakfast, followed by the 10-15 minute talk and questions from the floor.  The cost of the event is ?5.
