Moore Stephens Financial Services has been named as the official sponsor of the Western (IOM) Photographic Society’s Annual Open and Photographer of the Year Competition in April 2010.
Kevin Wood, director of Moore Stephens Financial Services, "We are only too happy to help the society by providing sponsorship to cover the costs of the competition.
"We know that the arts are an integral part of Island life and indeed all the art work in our offices is done by local artists.
"In addition, we recently sponsored the latest addition of New Moods of Mann publication which features Western (IOM) Photographic Society member, Dorothy Flint’s winning photograph on the front cover.
"Who knows - our involvement in the competition could even help discover a budding star photographer amongst the staff here!"
The Western (IOM) Photographic Society, based in Peel, was founded in 1979 by a small group of amateur photographers and is still going from strength to strength.
It is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain through the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union, and is supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council.
There are over 40 members with a wide range of abilities from beginner to expert who use both film and digital cameras.
Eddie Fryer, president of The Western (IOM) Photographic Society, said, "The club would like to give sincere thanks to Moore Stephens Financial Services for its support and funding.
"We are excited about what will undoubtedly be a very competitive event with extremely high calibre entries and are delighted to have secured the services of Mr Tom Dodd, FRPS, an eminent and much respected UK photographic judge.
"Moore Stephens Financial Services will also be providing the competition with a new trophy which will be given to the entry judged to be best overall."
