2010 Manx Executive Challenge Launched

by isleofman.com 17th November 2009

The 2010 Manx Executive Challenge has been launched, and four teams now have the task of addressing some of the major issues that the Isle of Man is facing.

For the first time, this year's entrants will face one overall challenge from from within a specific, allocated sector: public; private; charity; and social.

The Challenge is defined as: Select and define a project that you believe should be implemented for the benefit of the Isle of Man and its residents. Produce a Business Plan to make the case for your proposals, showing the viability, cost/benefit, timescale, etc and where the funding will come from.

Each of the teams has unveiled their particular strategy to an audience at Mount Murray.

Ann Clayton, Chair of the Manx Executive Challenge Committee commented, "The overall project is even more relevant now than when the Committee first chose it in August.

"We are delighted that the teams have not been afraid to choose some very interesting and challenging projects.  We look forward with interest to hearing their recommendations in May next year and hope that the relevant organizations seriously consider them for implementation."

The Manx Executive Challenge is run every two years by the Isle of Man branch of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
