Important Workshop for Company Directors

by isleofman.com 18th November 2009

The Isle of Man Institute of Directors, in conjunction with AON, is holding a workshop to address key changes to companies legislation.

'Why Companies Should Purchase D & O Cover - Back to Basics' will take place on Tuesday 24th November at the Strathallan Suite (Strathallan Crescent, Douglas Promenade).

Interested parties have the option of attending a breakfast session (8am - 9.30am) or an afternoon session (3pm - 4pm).

Guest speakers from AON Professions and Chubb Insurance will give a brief presentation before taking questions from the floor.

The workshops have been prompted by legislative changes brought into effect by the Financial Supervision Commission, which raise licensing  and exemption issues for company directors.

The areas covered will include: a brief outline of the news regulations; the need for Directors' & Officers' Cover and Professional Indemnity; risk exposure and appropriate limits of indemnity; key requirements for corporate entity extentions; and procedures to be followed upon the cessation of a directorship.

Also under discussion will be who the new regulation changes protect and why, with some examples of recent claims.

To book your place, please email Stephen Honeybone at stephen(at)orchardrecruitment.com by Friday 19th November 2009.

The cost is ?5 for Members and ?10 for non-Members.
