by isleofman.com 19th November 2009

Royal London 360° has appointed Merita Taylor as Communications Executive.

She will manage the company’s PR and events in the Isle of Man and across its international bases.

Merita joins the offshore life company from a local PR, marketing and event agency where she was responsible for managing and servicing the accounts of brands, including Sure (Cable and Wireless), Manx2.com, the Isle of Man Bay Festival, Conister Bank, King William’s College, Microgaming and Coast.

She moved into PR and communications following a nine year career in broadcast journalism, including experience with the BBC and GCap Media (now Global Radio), covering some of the biggest stories of recent times for use across all stations in the UK’s largest radio group.

After moving to the Isle of Man to take up a position as News and Sport Editor, and breakfast show presenter at one of its radio stations, she began working in television as a journalist and presenter for ITV Border News and the Isle of Man Government e-Business News podcast.

Merita is a graduate of the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN), one of the UK’s top journalism schools.

She is currently studying for the Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma at the Isle of Man International Business School.

As the international division of the Royal London Group, Royal London 360° offers a broad range of offshore investment, savings and tax planning products to investors based around the world.

In her new role, Merita will have wide-ranging responsibilities including developing and implementing the group communications plan across the Isle of Man, UK, Middle and Far East, media relations, event management, direct marketing and developing internal communications locally.

Royal London 360°’s Head of Marketing, Natalie Dutton, commented, "I am delighted that Merita has joined the team, and I am very much looking forward to working with her.

"I am confident that her wealth of experience in communications and media relations will bring a fresh approach to the promotional activities undertaken by Royal London 360°, both internally and within the markets we operate."
